  10    <code class="command">ALTER POLICY</code> changes the definition of an existing
  11    row-level security policy.  Note that <code class="command">ALTER POLICY</code>
  12    only allows the set of roles to which the policy applies and the
  13    <code class="literal">USING</code> and <code class="literal">WITH CHECK</code> expressions to
  14    be modified.  To change other properties of a policy, such as the command
  15    to which it applies or whether it is permissive or restrictive, the policy
  16    must be dropped and recreated.

  18    To use <code class="command">ALTER POLICY</code>, you must own the table that
  19    the policy applies to.
  20   </p><p>
  21    In the second form of <code class="command">ALTER POLICY</code>, the role list,
  22    <em class="replaceable"><code>using_expression</code></em>, and
  23    <em class="replaceable"><code>check_expression</code></em> are replaced
  24    independently if specified.  When one of those clauses is omitted, the
  25    corresponding part of the policy is unchanged.
