5    <code class="command">DO</code> executes an anonymous code block, or in other
6    words a transient anonymous function in a procedural language.

8    The code block is treated as though it were the body of a function
9    with no parameters, returning <code class="type">void</code>.  It is parsed and
10    executed a single time.

12    The optional <code class="literal">LANGUAGE</code> clause can be written either
13    before or after the code block.

15       The procedural language code to be executed.  This must be specified
16       as a string literal, just as in <code class="command">CREATE FUNCTION</code>.
17       Use of a dollar-quoted literal is recommended.

19       The name of the procedural language the code is written in.
20       If omitted, the default is <code class="literal">plpgsql</code>.

22    The procedural language to be used must already have been installed
23    into the current database by means of <code class="command">CREATE EXTENSION</code>.
24    <code class="literal">plpgsql</code> is installed by default, but other languages are not.

26    The user must have <code class="literal">USAGE</code> privilege for the procedural
27    language, or must be a superuser if the language is untrusted.
28    This is the same privilege requirement as for creating a function
29    in the language.

31    If <code class="command">DO</code> is executed in a transaction block, then the
32    procedure code cannot execute transaction control statements.  Transaction
33    control statements are only allowed if <code class="command">DO</code> is executed in
34    its own transaction.
