  12    functions. Trigger functions can be written in most of the available
  13    procedural languages, including PL/pgSQL (Chapter 41), PL/Tcl
  14    (Chapter 42), PL/Perl (Chapter 43), and PL/Python (PL/Python). After
  15    reading this chapter, you should consult the chapter for your favorite
  16    procedural language to find out the language-specific details of
  17    writing a trigger in it.

  19    It is also possible to write a trigger function in C, although most
  20    people find it easier to use one of the procedural languages. It is not
  21    currently possible to write a trigger function in the plain SQL
  22    function language.
